2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups sliced almonds
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1 head cabbage (Napa or regular), chopped
1 bunch green onions, chopped
2 3-ounce packages ramen noodles – DO NOT COOK!
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup white sugar
1/3 cup rice vinegar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Melt
butter over medium heat in large, heavy skillet. Add almonds and
sesame seeds and brown slightly. Cool and drain nut mixture on brown
paper bag. In a large bowl, toss together cabbage, onions and dry,
crushed Ramen noodles. Add nut mixture to cabbage mixture. Blend oil,
sugar, rice vinegar, and salt until sugar is dissolved. Pour dressing
over cabbage mixture and toss to blend completely. Refrigerate for
several hours before serving.
